Selected topics of the marine earth sciences

Students are familiar with the methods and concepts of marine geology and are able to identify overarching earth science objectivies of geomarine research projects, to work on them independently, and to present and discuss their scientific results.
This course provides an interactive introduction to the literature and data from scientific ocean drilling projects and addresses selected topics in marine geology, geophysics, and geochemistry, which include issues related to the long-term evolution of the ocean/climate system and marine geohazards.
Short teaching sequences, literature reviews, seminar presentations and discussions.
