Part 1: Knowledge on pre-processing and classification of multi-spectral satellite images
Part 2: Knowledge of methods for the analysis of airborne LiDAR data
Part 3: Knowledge of programmatic framework at national/european/international level
Part 1: Understanding multispectral satellite images, spectral signature and feature space, unsupervised and supervised classification with ERDAS Imagine, object oriented classification with ERDAS Objective and threshold-classification with the ERDAS model maker.
Part 2: Setup of LiDAR-point projects and raster catalogs, point- to raster aggregation, profile extraction, point thinning, 3D visualization
Part 3: Trends, programmes and institutions in Earth Observation/Remote Sensing at national/european/international level
Part 1: Hands-on exercises + presentation on theory and application with exercisese and homework
Part 2: Combination of lectures and exercises/homework with the software Laserdata-LiS
Part 3: Combination of lectures and presentations/discussion
Parts 1 and 2: Test with exercises
Part 3: Each student has to prepare a presentation on a defined topic. The performance assessment will be a pro-rata part of the total assessment.
