Students acquire basic knowledge of plant physiology.
This course provides an overview of the physiological, biochemical and biophysical processes of plant metabolism, focussing on photosynthesis and respiration. It is through these two processes that plants form the basis of life on Earth. The effects of the environment on plant function are discussed; topics include plant nutrition, plant water relations and plant hormone functions.
Lectures; assessment of the students' performance is based on a single examination.
