Students learn various methods (wet-chemical analysis as well as rapid tests) for qualitative and quantitative analysis of different laboratory parameters, the application of these techniques as well as evaluation and interpretations of the results. Hence, students learn skills that will allow them to critically assess procedures, results and diagnostic interpretations and identify potential problems and sources of error.

Important topics in chemical diagnostics, e.g. urinary analysis, pregnancy tests, enzyme analysis, neonatal screenings as well as various methods and parameters that are essential in diagnostics (e.g. tumor marker).
