After completion of this module, students are able to create complex experimental designs and are familiar with advanced statistical and graphical methods of analysis. This course will prepare participants for the data analysis of their thesis.

This course focuses on multivariate statistical methods, both exploratory and confirmative. Techniques such as factor analysis, cluster analysis, and MANOVA are presented. Statistical testing is mainly done by permutation techniques, but also parametric methods will be shown. The necessary theory will be outlined as a basis for the practical work with specific software. However, the scope of this course is open and will be modified according to the needs of the participants and the data they bring.

A firm understanding of basic statistical methods such as analysis of variance and regression is assumed. Since this course is specifically intended for people during preparation of their theses, there will be the possibility to bring own data sets.

Participants prepare a report for assessment at the end of the course.
