Students are able to master simple design and planning tasks. They are able to analyse a design task, to formulate an architectural programme, to create a spatial concept and to translate it into an architectural design of a high aesthetic level. You are able to develop, presentand present a project.
Architectural tasks for developing and advanced study of the design process and training of the personal creative ability; learning to understand design as a complex decision-making process; integration of design-relevant influencing factors.

Briefs and content available on 15.2.2022.
Groups 2 and 3 Studio Colletti:
DIGITAL CERAMICS
Groups 2 and 3 will both take place under the direction of Colletti/Contala/Schwaderer.
Both groups will be merged for workshops and the fabrication part, also Midterm and Finals will be held together. The common over-theme for both groups is DIGITAL CERAMICS, with specific topics distributed as follows:
Group 2:
E2 digital ceramics_ another brick in the wall
another brick in the wall - is the umbrella term for a new type of 3d-printed brick. A brick that can be used for monolithic masonry but makes the mortar joint a surplus. The brick of the future is a modular brick that can serve a wide variety of uses / requirements within a circular economy. The technology of 3D printing, offers a sustainable yet innovative solution to transform architectural components, such as the brick.
Ceramics, or fired clay, in the form of bricks, is already the most widely used building material on earth. The technology of 3D printing allows us to create novel, complex forms and to develop our own design language for "Digital Ceramics". We will experiment with translating traditional crafts into digital crafts, focusing on materiality, sustainability and digital design. Focusing on ceramics and 3D printing, we create a seamless interaction between material and machine, breaking the boundaries between craft and digital design. Designing is accompanied by cera.LAB with material research and fabrication. IG: @cera.lab
The goal of the course is to produce a design that reflects the interrelationship of material and form within an understanding of 3D printed architecture. Here, analog and 3D printed models form a basis for the design of the digitally /parametrically designed models.
Group 3
E2 digital ceramics_ hosting a green community
Hosting a green community - is the umbrella term for novel 3D-printed facades. The greening of a dense urban space not only improves air quality but also regulates the urban climate and absorbs noise.
The complex structure (multi-layering, material mix) of a green facade can be greatly simplified with the help of digital design and fabrication.
Digitally designed ceramic facades can become hosts to a wide variety of plants through orientation and porosity.
Requirements for the components are water absorption and conductivity, frost resistance as well as open-pored surfaces to support roots and climbing plants. The design is accompanied by cera.LAB with material research and fabrication.

The goal of the course is a design that reflects the relationship between material and form within an understanding, for 3D printed architecture. Here, analog and 3D printed models form a basis for the design of the digitally / parametrically designed models.
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
