In an open-ended process, analytical methods and interpretation techniques are developed that enable productive translation steps between media.

The in-depth exploration of 3D scanning and the potential of point clouds form the basis for moving from an idea sketch in a physical model to digital studies and speculative architectural schemes. The question is how digital technologies can open up new ways of materialization and tectonics.

Reciprocal relationships between different techniques are an essential part of the design methodology in Studio Hochbau (Karolin Schmidbaur). In this seminar, working methods are explored and deepened in order to utilize a changing perspective of investigation as a reiterated renewal of an (original) idea.

The focus is to use the conceptual potential of the vague condition at the interface between digital and analog states of a work.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
