Students are familiar with the mechanical, physical, tribological, chemical and technological material properties and know their use relevance in the field of mechatronics and their measurement. Furthermore, students understand different fracture mechanisms and should be avoided in the situation by appropriate material selection and design material failure. Students understand the methodology of selection of materials and can avail instructed to solve complex tasks.

Properties of materials (elasticity, plasticitycreep, shrinkage, fatigue, hardness), physical (electrical, magnetic, optical, thermal), tribological, chemical and technological properties and their testing, microstructure analysis using microscopic techniques, material failure, failure analysis based on practical examples, introduction in the main metallic, ceramic and polymer composites with applications in the field of mechatronics, methods of material selection;

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".

Will be discussed in the first lesson.
