A systematic and reflective approach to literary texts and the development of a reasoned text comprehension.

Literary prizes are an important criterion in the choice of reading and offer readers orientation on the literary market. The seminar will focus on prize-winning texts. These will be analyzed, interpreted and discussed with regard to their "certified" quality. The range of texts covered includes well-known authors: Thomas Bernhard, Julia Rabinowich, Jutta Treiber, Renate Welsh, and others. Students will analyse selected examples from the texts in terms of their form, style, content and reception.
