Students will know basic ecological concepts and methods and have knowledge of components, structures and processes of selected ecosystems as well as their current and future changes. They will be able to explain and communicate ecological aspects and have knowledge in the field of nature conservation.
* Ecology basics (concepts, structure and function of ecosystems, methods)
* Terrestrial ecosystems (example forest: functions, ecosystem services, risks, perspectives)
* Aquatic ecosystems (example river: functions, ecosystem services, risks, perspectives)
* Nature conservation (goals, strategies, examples)
Presentations by experts, group discussions, presentations by students, discussions with external experts.
