Students apply the methods of data analysis they have learned within projects. They lead an exemplary data-based decision-making process from inquiry through data analysis and data interpretation to the evaluation of data-based decisions. They can conduct a similar process in their field of study.

Conduction of the data-based decision-making process with the following steps:

  • Defining of the (research) questions
  • Identifying and gathering the required data (1, 2)
  • Preparation and storage of data (1, 2)
  • Analysis of the data to answer the question (1, 3)
  • Presentation and interpretation of the results (3)
  • Reflection on the process and its context (4)

The modules corresponding to skills necessary for particular steps are listed in the parenthesis.

This is the last module of the Minor Digital Science, only students who completed all other modules should take this course. If you have other courses which could be accredited as our modules, please contact the Associate Dean of Studies at DiSC.

The lab will not take place weekly (as scheduled). It will be blocked on some of the scheduled dates/timeslots. In the first meeting, the timeslots will be adjusted based on advancement in minor and time constraints of participants. Therefore, please try to keep these slots free.
