Acquaintance with problems and questions concerning interpretation and understanding.
As human beings, we strive to make sense of, i.e., to understand the world around us. But what does it mean to understand something? How many types of understanding are there? What does it take to understand an event, a person, a scientific theory, a text, or a work of art? Is understanding a subjective notion? How does understanding relate to explanation, truth and interpretation?
Lecture with Q&A.
