The students are able to demonstrate the history and the current state of affairs of the theological dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. They can explain the issues with uniatism and can discuss the Ravenna-Document of 2007.

The Catholic and the Orthodox Church are very close regarding their understanding of the sacramentality of the church, of the ecclesial office, and of the sacraments. In special consideration of the Ravenna-Document of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church from 13 October 2007, the ecclesiological and canonical consequences of the sacramental nature of the church will be treated.
