In addition to the content of the General Part of the Civil Law (see Contents) the students shall learn and confirm the methods of judicial work in particular casework.

The course deals mainly with the so called General Part of Civil Law which includes an overview of the law of persons and legal objects. The rules governing legal transactions take center stage. The course gives an introduction to contract law focussing on the formation of contracts, mistake, and agency.

The course consists of a lecture, which means that the content is presented by a lecturer. Due to assignments to prepare the course and to questions during the course the students are integrated. The presentation of the content is case-related.

In addition to the standard textbooks to the General Part of the Civil Law (Koziol/Welser I or P.Bydlinski, Allgemeiner Teil) there is a script. The students can download the script after the particular lecture at OLAT.
