Short description: This course gives an overview of qualitative and quantitative research methods in the social sciences. Students learn basic concepts and approaches in each method and its scientific backgrounds. Learning targets: - Understand how to link theoretical concepts and empirical research - Become acquainted with the practical research process (specifying a research question, choosing an adequate research design, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data). - Be able to collect data using standard research methods (surveys, interviews, observations, focus groups).

Students of the BA Wirtschaftswwissenschaften - Management and Economics UC 033 571 (elective module) and the Diploma International Economics (IWW) UC 155 (compulsory module) register for a course not via the LFU: online point registration but via the registration button "LFU: online registration ".
