- Introduction to auction theory
- Introduction to pricing mechanisms
What is the value of art? How are prices formed on the art market? Is art suitable as an investment object? who are the agents; what are the rules of the art market game?
Broad overview of the contemporary art market, insights into the history of art. Application of economic theory to art markets, modeling of economic relationships, predictability of strategic behavior, introduction to game theory and auction theory, discussion of different preference models and concepts of rationality, discussion of pricing mechanisms, excursion to auction houses and galleries.
