Learning Outcome:

Thorough knowledge of homeric narratology and similar approaches; good knowledge of Homeric language and the neo-analytical approach.

Contents:

The heuristic value of recent unitarian analyses, particularly the work of Irene de Jong, Vincenzo Di Benedetto, Martin L. West and others. Because of the inherent limitations of those approaches other types of Homeric studies will be considered as well, especially neo- analysis (particularly regarding Iliad 9).
