Methodic reflected dealings with literary texts and the development of a reasoned understanding of the text by focussing on the aspects genre and motiv; knowledge about the interrelations between literary, cultural, social and medial transformations.

We will discuss the position of Hermann Bahr (1863-1934) in context of literary Modernism and his influence on literary criticism around 1900.
