Konwledge of the basic concepts of the theory of science and insight into their application to various fields in Arts and Humanities in general and the domain of one's own PhD thesis in particular.

An introduction gives an overview of the main systems in the philosophy of science and of the opposition between empirial and applied science. After this, this knowledge will be applied to the selection of research questions and methods in student presentations.

The introduction is in the form of lectures and discussion. The specific applications are elaborated in student presentations.
