After successful completion of the course, students are able

- to explain the meaning of basic concepts of statistics

- name and evaluate different study designs in empirical research on sports science questions

- apply (inferential) statistical methods for 2 subgroups/2 time points in Jamovi, interpret and report adequately

Basics of quantitative methods in sports science research

Repetition/intensification of known (inferential) statistical methods

Parametric and non-parametric methods, regression analysis methods

Insight into variance analysis methods, factor analysis

Application of statistical software (Jamovi, G*Power)

Lecture and discussion of theoretical contents in study design, data collection and data analysis. Rehearsal and improvement of all contents by selected examples on the board and on the computer (Excel, SPSS)

Exercise, presentation of exercises, active participation, discussion
