winter semester 2022/2023 | Last update: 12.09.2022 | Place course on memo listAcquisition of skills for dealing with historic sources and studies critically, as well as the competence to present the newly-gained knowledge verbally and/or in writing; Acquisition of the competence to apply methods of auxiliary sciences.
By discussing various examples the class will introduce methodological approaches of diplomatics.
We will exercise the content and methodological approaches of the auxiliary sciences with focus on diploamtics using case studies. The focus is on medieval charters, which we will analyze and interpret according to questions of cultural history and history of mentalities.
Exercises, case studies, discussion, lecture
Contribution in class; home exercises, short written exam.
