Acquisition of basic skills for dealing with historic sources and presentations of the Middle Ages as well as skills in presenting the newly acquired knowledge orally as well as in writing. Acquisition of basic knowledge and application of relevant methods aiding scientific research.

The seminar introduces students to the special methodological approach of medieval studies with a special focus on the historical auxiliary sciences.  

The seminar gives a survey of the most important source types of the Middle Ages and offers an introduction to the tools of medieval studies. Students get knowledge in the application of auxiliary scientific methods.

Positive assessment of compulsory module 1. The respective proof ought to be produced until the end of October 2022.
