Processing and contextualisation of research literature and sources according to subject-specific standards; skills in writing a historical treatise (bachelor thesis) on a topic from the historical epochs and disciplines; presentation of the newly acquired knowledge

In this course we will discuss why  historical movies  (Medici, Borgia, Maria Theresia)and historical fictions as well as music with historical topics are so sucessfull and how they become fascinating. Furthermore we will analyse how we can use historical films and songs in teaching. With a few examples (incl. Games of Thrones) we will analyze the diffusion and percetion of history in film and music.
 

Reading and analysis of research literature and sources; students’ own investigations; group work and peer assessment; presentations and discussions; lectures

Regular and active participation in the seminar, presentations, peer assessment, bachelor thesis

Successful completion of obligatory modules 1,12 and 13

Proof of the successful completion of the second proseminar (compulsory module 12 or 13) ought to be produced until the end of October 2022

The seminar is partly organised in block sessions (see dates).
