Students undertake assisted research of sources and/or test their source-critical skills. They present their results in different media formats.

After the establishment of a law faculty at the University of Innsbruck, clashes occurred at the opening in autumn 1904, culminating in the deployment of the military with one fatality and numerous imprisonments of Italian students. These "Fatti di Innsbruck" led to the resignation of the government in Vienna and permanently strained the relationship between Austria and Italy, between Germans and Italians in Austria. Afterwards, the city of Innsbruck apparently commissioned a company to collect the media echo. In 1904, the print media catapulted this regional event into the German and Italian-speaking public spheres, just as events today spread in a flash via social media. Interestingly, however, the reception of this event was almost worldwide. The extensive collection of these "clippings" have been preserved in the city archives and have never been studied in depth.  This research lab aims to change that.

Action-oriented method from the first confrontation with the material, development of ideas to implementation, quasi from the source to the preparation to the written presentation.  

Examination-immanent course with compulsory attendance, participation, taking on research projects in small groups or individually, preparation of articles for a publication.
