- The student will be able to name the basics of the degradation and synthesis of lipids, amino acids and nucleotides.
- Students will master the basic principles of integration of energy metabolism and regulation of intermediary metabolism.
- Students will understand the basic principles of transcription and translation.
- Students will be able to describe the regulation of gene expression.
The lecture covers the fundamentals of the catabolic and anabolic metabolic pathways of lipids, amino acids, and nucleotides, as well as the regulation and coordination of intermediary metabolism. The lecture provides an introduction to the compartmentalization of the cell, transcription, translation, and protein degradation. In addition, the lecture covers the regulation of gene expression and provides an introduction to signal transduction.
Lecture, assessment is based on a single examination at the end of the course.
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".
