Having finished the course the students should be able to applie the different kinds of counseling (active participation and reflective function of the therapist) in the different fields of psychotherapy with children and adolescents (play therapy, anamnesis, methods to approach to parents, challenging situations).

In this course the main principles and kinds of technique of the non-directive psychotherapy  by Carl R. Rogers will be presented and it will be shown how to use them in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. Within terms of content its about the question how to build and develop a relationship between the therapist and the child /adolescent and how diagnostic instruments (e.g. Sceno-Test) can contribute to this process. Furthermore the basic elements of play therapy,anamnesis, methods to approach to parents and challenging situations will be acquired and applied in role plays and video-based case studies.
