Basic understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of coupled analytical techniques with focus on mass spectrometry. Knowledge of the respective fields of application in natural product analytics, ability to interpret the data, and independently solving basic challenges in natural product analysis.

Functioning and design of diverse analytical coupling techniques such as HPLC-MS, GC-MS and CE-MS. Comparison and application of selected techniques for natural product analysis.

Presentation of specific coupling techniques starting from concrete literature and application examples and interactive discussion of the application potential.

Presentation of coupled techniques and participation at the course.

Will be discussed in the first lesion.
