Students learn the basics of fluid mechanics and viscosity with regard to CFD-modelling and their relation to other transport phenomena.

Fundamentals of fluid mechanics for incompressible and compressible fluids; advanced knowledge of CFD modelling of fluid systems; coupling of fluid mechanics, viscosity and thermochemistry and their relevance for the phase field simulation of emulsions and solidification processes; mathematical methods for calculating the viscosity of (semi-crystalline) polymer solutions
