After successful completion of the lecture, students are able to read critically and deconstruct different narratives of Europe. They will have a deeper understanding of

  • The History of Europe
  • The political, social and cultural construction of the EU
  • Processes of integration: strategies and mechanisms of political, social and cultural inclusion and exclusion
  • Various reasons for war and conflict in Europe (religion, economy, colonialism etc.)

Students examine the historical and contemporary roles, interconnections, and differential effects of human organizations and actions on global systems within the human and the natural worlds.
