The students can characterize the structure and microstructure of materials and the mechanical properties. In addition, they learn the underlying chemical and physical processes in the course of production and the resulting possibility of a targeted influencing of the mechanical material behavior.

They are able to apply experimental methods for the detection of microstructures as well as for the determination of mechanical parameters.
