Students have advanced knowledge about machine foundation and vibration decoupling. They are able to design a mechanical vibration absorber. They understand the effects of imbalance in rotor dynamics and have basic knowledge about the dynamics of multiple mass oscillators and nonlinear oscillations.
Fundamentals of machine dynamics (machine foundation, vibration decoupling, vibration absorber); fundamentals of rotor dynamics; dynamics of multi-mass oscillators; torsional oscillations; fundamentals of nonlinear oscillations.
The course consists of lecture and exercise parts. Exercises are announced on a weekly basis. The participants have to deliver their written solutions periodically and present them orally on occasion.
Continuous assessment based on regular written and/or oral contributions of the participants (weekly exercises) in addition to a course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations".
