Participants know about the austrian law for the posession of weapons an the reliability to get a license.
In the supervision own cases can be discussed.
In the morning, Mr. Mag. Robert Gartner, the responsible clerk at the BMI, will present basic information on the Weapons Act and on psychological reliability assessments from a legal point of view. He will provide first-hand information about current considerations, innovations and legislative projects in the field of security and gun law and will be available to answer questions. In the afternoon Mr. Ass. Prof. Dr. Johannes Klopf from the Department of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Neuropsychology at the University of Salzburg Topics that are important for assessing weapon reliability (and other prognostic issues). He spans the arc from forensic psychology to psychological diagnostics for the assessment of dangerousness to forensic neuropsychology. Dr. Klopf does not shy away from social and method-critical debates and in his contribution encourages reflection on humanistic values in connection with guilt, punishment and the enforcement of measures.
The lessions will be presented virtually.
It is necessary to participate online during the lessons.
