Acquisition of skills for dealing with historical sources and depictions as well as skills to present the knowledge acquired in verbal and/or written form; acquisition of knowledge and application of relevant methods of auxiliary sciences.

Dealing with historical sources und research literature; application of methods from auxiliary sciences of history; oral and written presentation; critical discussion.

Imperial Cities in Early Modern Period. This PS focuses on the impact of cultural historical approaches to the history of early modern imperial cities. The course explores central research fields of urban historiography, for example institutions, constitution, political culture, confessional situation, foreign relations, consumption and material culture.
Reading and discussion of sources and secondary literature; thematic presentations; group work
Regular and active participation; oral presentation; written final paper
