202019 VU Philosophical Doctrine of God
summer semester 2023 | Last update: 10.08.2023 | Place course on memo listThe students can analyze claims and arguments concerning the philosophical quest for God and can assess their scope and soundness.
Introduction to the discussions on the soundness of philosophical clarifications on God’s existence and his attributes, on the historically most influential arguments (including religious criticism), and on the relation between religious and other patterns of explanations.
Lecture, discussion, two papers and final exam. The lecture will be in presence mode, in case of deteriorating epidemiological conditions it will also be recorded or transferred to the internet. Students who cannot attend for medical reasons are requested to contact the instructor.
Written exam, the papers count 25%.
