404070 VU Market Economy and Public Policy: Economic Theory of Politics
summer semester 2023 | Last update: 06.04.2023 | Place course on memo listPublic Choice as a research field offers a comprehensive set of tools for the analysis of political decisions. Course participants will learn to apply the basic concepts of Public Choice in a wide array of political choice situations. After completing the course, participants should be able to independently model selected political situations and assess the potential of economic models to predict political decisions on the national, as well as international, level.

The course will be completed with a written exam. The qualification for this final exam will be the positive evaluation for seminar participation.

- SDG 14 - Life below water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
- SDG 15 - Life on land: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
- SDG 16 - Peace, justice and strong institutions: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
- SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
