Competence of interpreting texts of contemporary literature

In Anna Croissant-Rust (1860-1943) we encounter an exemplary representative of German-language naturalism who has largely been forgotten today, although she was certainly noticed as an important voice in the chorus of Munich modernism during her lifetime. As the only woman in the circle of members of the "Society for Modern Life" led by Michael Georg Conrad and as a contributor to the modernist journal "Die Gesellschaft" (and other journals), she was able to distinguish herself in the 1890s as a partisan of literary modernism. 80 years after her death, in this seminar we want to look again at her texts.
