At the end of the course, students will have in-depth knowledge of identity politics theories and discourses and will gain an overview of current debates about identity and diversity in speaking about literature in the media.

The term identity politics and the concepts associated with it have been polarizing for quite some time and often determine evaluation processes and discussions about literary texts and other cultural products such as films and series. This seminar will deal with texts that make identity politics and diversity literary topics themselves and deal with them creatively. At the same time, their reception and negotiation in other media will be examined.
