611000 SL Fundamentals of Philological and Cultural Studies
summer semester 2023 | Last update: 28.03.2023 | Place course on memo listKnowledge of the most important subject contents of Romance studies: literature and cultural studies, linguistics.
Knowledge of the basics of academic work (incl. literature search, systematisation of material, academic writing, etc.) and ability to write an academic paper according to the content and formal requirements.
Library tour; literature search in the library (physical) in the form of work assignments; virtual databases and bibliographies; management and evaluation techniques of research literature (excerpting); basic principles of academic writing (organisation of a proseminar paper): structure of the paper, citation, bibliography, techniques of academic writing.
Presentation of subject content by Department members
Teaching of the basics of scientific work (bibliography, scientific writing and argumentation) by the course instructor.
1) Final test (written) at the end of the term.
2) Submission of a research question + mini-bibliography (3 titles of secondary literature)
A detailed bibliography will be handed out in the first session.
None, therefore recommended for first semester attendance.
