The excursion takes us to one of the most fascinating cities in northern Italy. Torino is not only remarkable due to its exceptional remnants from the Roman past but also because of the rich collections housed in a variety of museums in the city. Apart from the Archaeological Museum housed in the Palazzo Reale we will visit the famous Egyptological Museum which represent one of the most magnificent collections in the world. Moreover, Torino is a perfect starting point to explore two Roman cities in its immediate surroundings. In Susa and Aosta, the latter an important resting place before moving across the Great St Bernard Pass, we will study the remains of Roman architecture from the High Roman Empire through Late Antiquity.
