Acquisition of skills for dealing with historic sources and studies critically, as well as the competence to present the newly-gained knowledge verbally and/or in writing; Acquisition of the competence to apply methods of auxiliary sciences.

Exercise in transcribing, in source criticism and interpretation. The course is particularly recommended for the history teacher training courses. 

Chronology, genealogy, palaeography, documentary studies, sphragistics and source studies are part of the tools of medieval research. The exercise offers an introduction to the historical auxiliary sciences on the basis of selected sources from the Old Tyrolean region and relevant literature.

Frontal lecture and source analysis

Oral exam.
