Learning Outcome:

Acquisition of knowledge on the different forms of historic display and the skills to present historic relations on site and to deconstruct display formats.

Contents:

The exercise will prepare the excursion to Bayreuth/Upper Franconia with the topics:

- the Holy Roman Empire in the 17th and 18th centuries

- Baroque residences and their court culture

- early modern ruling structures in Upper Franconia

- the life of Wilhelmine of Bayreuth

In addition, the organisation of the excursion and its planning will be explained in the sessions.

Methods:

Reading, discussion of relevant literature, preparation of material for the excursion.

Assessment:

Preparation of relevant topics for the excursion and final essay.

Literature:

A list of research literature will be given

Successful completion of obligatory module 1
