Acquisition of the skill, to formulate a suitable question on a topic in Modern History after the research discussion. ability to analyse a topic supported by sources; ability to present the research results in an appropriate way with regards to contents and form; skill to critically reflect on the relevance and the methods of own’s own work.

The focus of the course is on different aspects and cultural meanings of food in modern time. It concerns both food related changes in society (cafès) and medical concepts /diets.

Reading and discussion of sources and research literature; thematic presentations; group work

Regular and active participation; oral presentation; written final paper

Positive assessment of two modules from the elective modules 1 to 6! The respective proof ought to be produced until the end of April 2022.
