645301 UE General Scientific Working Techniques
summer semester 2023 | Last update: 14.12.2022 | Place course on memo listAcquisition of basic knowledge of the scientific nature of the subject (theories, methods); key qualifications for successfully passing introductory seminars and seminars; acquisition of communicative and performative skills; knowledge of and practical use of subject-specific methods of working, as well as the basic principles of scientific working; critical reflection of questions and research results in historical sciences and their contexts with regards to society, politics and culture.
Training in basic skills and techniques of scientific work; practical exercises and examples of 'Guided Reading' and 'Guided Writing' - reading comprehension, development of clear subjects and guiding questions for theses, dealing with excerpts and producing different types of texts; acquisition of different presentation techniques and introduction to the structure of introductory seminar courses and seminars; visits to library and archive.
Lecture, short presentations, group work, discussions, online-tutorial.
Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, oral presentation, reading and short written papers, dummy-paper.
Will be discussed in the first lesson (OLAT).
