summer semester 2023 | Last update: 08.03.2023 | Place course on memo listOverview of theories of gender relations, communication of the current state of current state of research in critical gender studies, Contextualisation of critical gender research, linking theoretical reflection and theoretical reflection and practical application using selected examples.
The lecture focuses on gender concepts, gender theories, ideas of masculinity and femininity from the late 18th century to the 21st century. The instructor will present the field of (historical) gender studies. Students will discuss the field based on relevant texts and exemplary sources. Special attention will be paid to power relations, gender orders and social inequalities.
Input by course instructor, class discussions, analysis of sources in working groups, peer learning, oral and written assignments during the semester.
Written exam at the end of the term.
