The students will be exposed to pupillometry measurement. The students will design, run, process, and analyze the results of a pupillometry study.

Measuring changes in pupil size (pupillometry) is frequently used to indicate light intensity, but also to a cognitive effort, arousal, attention, surprise, and more. To get this involuntary information, eye-tracking devices are required. In addition, dedicated processing and analysis are required. In the present course, we will exposure to recent studies that used pupillometry as an indicator of various cognitive processes. At the beginning of the seminar, the students will read (critically) relevant papers that describe a measurement of pupil dilation. The papers will be presented in the class by one (or more) of the students. In the second part of the course, the students will write a research proposal, design an experiment, collect data, and will processing and analyze the results.
