Participants of this module acquire advanced understandig of mass spectrometric procedures and their analytic applications. They acquire the ability to independently gain new knowledge in mass spectrometry and analytic applications. Both prepares for own scientific experimental work.

Fundamentals of mass spectrometry, discussion of different mass analyzers, ion detectors and ionisation methods, in particular chemical ionisation methods in ion physics; resolution, precision, sensitivity, detection limits of mass spectrometry instruments; analytical applications of mass spectrometry in research and industry.
