Students are able to identify, analyze and interpret cinematic tropes to represent diversity. Students are familiar with central aspects of film production, are able to connect these with theoretical ideas and put them into practice. They can justify their decisions and have gained experience in the field of science communication.

The aim of this course is to critically look at cinematic representations of diversity. Students learn about the concept of diversity, film analysis, and film production. They produce (short) films in order to critically reflect about the representation of diversity. Conclusively, they show their films at a public event and thereby gain experience in the field of science communication.
