The students train their ability to confront themselves with death and dying. They learn to identify the potentially different ideas and expectations of the dying persons, their family, their circle of friends and the accompanying professionals and volunteers. The students can describe and classify the main definitions and concepts of mindfulness.

Based on their own interest the students develop in working groups common statements of a problem with regard to dying. They intensively deal with it by literature, film and interviews.

Definitions and concepts of mindfulness will be introduced and practiced.

Input by the lead facilitator, reading, autonomous enquiries and presentations, guided practice of mindfulness.

A text presentation, a research presentation and a written reflection on one of the guided practice will be marked. Continuous attendance and active participation are expected as a matter of course.

A reference list will be provided in the first session.
