Learning Outcome:

After completing the lecture and exercise, the students can carry out static calculations of structures and check them for plausibility. This knowledge forms an essential basis for the applied subjects of structural engineering, such as concrete construction, timber construction, and steel construction.

Contents:

The theoretical basics of the theory of elasticity and the beam theory taught in the courses on strength of materials are processed in a computationally advantageous manner for structural calculation methods. Particular emphasis is placed on the prerequisites and simplifications made and the resulting application limits.
