The students:
- know different energy systems (including their central components) for heat and electricity supply,
- understand the economic and technical basics of planning, design and operation of different energy supply systems,
- can strategically combine different energy sources in order to find technically, ecologically and economically suitable solutions,
- are able to model energy supply concepts based on individual energy demands,
- know the challenges and limitations of modelling and simulation in the context of energy systems.
- Basics of energy systems (e.g. solar thermal energy, geothermal energy, thermal storage, etc.) including their economic evaluation
- Introduction to MATLAB / Simulink (scripts, functions, import / export of data, plotting of results, etc.)
- Modelling and simulation of energy systems by utilising MATLAB / Simulink / CARNOT toolbox
